I just posted a comment on another blogger's site; she was talking about those moments when you feel like the game is over, that you've totally screwed up and how on earth did you ever complain about anything else. And then she went on to give us the whole "peaks and valleys" speech of parenting and how it's important to remember this (usually she's not so deep and sentimental because I couldn't read this crap day in and day out).
My response?
"Peaks and valleys? Nah, more like peaks and sinkholes. With a lot of quicksand in between. And the occasional pretty pond or ice cream truck. And lots of good grass that means nothing 'til you hit the desert. But usually, you stumble across the grapes and that’s when you make wine and toast to the fact that you’re still plodding forward."
