Hard to argue with logic like that. After confirming this with his parents, I then proceeded to coax my friend Heather to come over with her little girl so that Lucy would have a girl to play with for a while. Lucy is such a good sport that she will play boy games (swords, martial arts) but you can tell her heart's not in it. Enter Ella with baby dolls and ponies.
The noise level was fantastic. So fantastic that Kevin debated going to CityWalk (a dance club downtown) to get some peace and quiet. Kevin is really not a multi-kid person; he nearly jumped for joy when I announced that Ella was spending the night too.

Ella and Lucy played veterinarian while Jack and Andy ran through the house screaming into walkie talkies. Screaming. Into walkie talkies. Not even in different rooms. They just chased each other around screaming into the walkie walkies. And the girls continued to play veterinarian.
Paul and Daisy stayed put in the recliner.
We finally put in the movie "Madagascar" with pillows and blankets. Here's a couple photos of them watching the movie like tired little kids.
Below, you will see the potential sleeping arrangements for the evening.

At 10:45, Lucy is already passed out. Ella and Andy are arguing over where Ella lives - Andy says Edmond (which is true) and Ella's telling us Texas Road House (which is a restaurant). Jack is telling Rachel what to do on her Wii game.
What an awesome mom I am - I arrange sleepovers with little children and then put them all in Rachel's room. I have an ugly suspicion she'll bring this up tomorrow when she wants something.
What a cool big sister to put up with all those little friends for the night!
ReplyDeleteI think there was one thing missing.
ReplyDeleteI know!
An actual human friend for Paul to play with. Next time you don't have enough kids to go around call me. I usually have a free one around!
This blog made me laugh out loud! Thanks for posting. I miss you.
