This is the part of childhood I love watching. The imagination and the creativity. And the ability to throw on a mask and view the whole world as something other than it is. Andy and his best neighborhood bud, Jackson, are very much into superheroes these days and it shows. All you need is a small blanket, gloves, and a mom-made mask and boom, there you have it.
When Rachel was this age and a bit older, she had a neighborhood friend named Brittney and they were constantly creating potions and spells out of dirt, stones, sticks, leaves, whatever they could find outside. They had a whole magical world in our yard and it took a lot to interrupt them. The potions eventually got a bit more complex, as food coloring, perfume, shampoo, soaps, and other liquidy substances were added to the mixes. The most bizarre part was when they would freeze their potions. I'd open up the freezer to get nuggets and there would be these small cups/caps/lids of colored potions strategically arranged in the freezer. No one knows why, but it must have made sense in their world.
