"In a minute, Paul."
Five minutes go by.
"Mawm! Will you open de cwoset? Now!"
"Paul! In a minute!"
Two minutes go by. Rinse and repeat above scenarios every thirty seconds, only pretend you can hear a 3 year old's voice getting shriller and shriller when his mother simply keeps saying "in a minute."
Finally, I bust out with an exasperated "Paul! Why would I open up the closet for you if you keep whining and crying?"
"Because you ignored my polite requests five minutes ago and blew me off with that weak 'just a minute' crap." Is what my young man would say if he was in a Calvin and Hobbes comic strip.
But alas, this is what I got instead:
"But mawma, I not cwying. See?"
