I'm sure the Montana folks would get a good chuckle out of our "blizzards" and "winter storms." I bet they'll call us all sorts of names along the lines of "pansies" when they hear about Oklahoma Ice Frenzy '09.
Oh yes. Ice Frenzy.

See? It doesn't snow much here, at least the good snowman-building kind. Usually, we get a decent snowfall that melts within 2 days so normally the kiddos do get one day of snowballs and snowmen. Then they wake up the next day to sunshine and 70 degrees. Bye bye snowman.

Last week, it began pelting ice on Monday morning and didn't stop until Tuesday night. Not snow. Not flakes. Just itsy-bitsy ice pellets.

It didn't stop the neighborhood kids from rushing out with their hats, scarves, coats, and sleds (sleds...it's downright hysterical that people here own sleds, which they store in their garages all year for that one potential day in January that we might have enough snow/ice). Hey, Montana, it was 17 degrees on Tuesday with a happy windchill somewhat lower. Can you appreciate that nonsense? 17 degrees but here in Oklahoma, you have to take advantage of the white weather when you can.
Wednesday morning, the sun came out. By Thursday noon, it was all gone.
