Go look at Christmas lights. Yukon does a fabulous job with lights in the park and we cruised through it. Paul even seemed mesmerized by the lights. Or at least I assume he was since he wasn't squawking to get out of his seat.
Make dinner together as a family. It would have been nice to have pulled that stick out before dinner. Might have been a good idea for Mom to pay attention ahead of schedule.
Play a game together. What's interesting about having a toddler in the house is that there really isn't "together" time or total "family" time. We all agreed to play Sorry (Andy made us all vote on it) and you can imagine how a 2-year old would enjoy those little pieces.
Make a gingerbread house. It was a good thing that I accidentally knocked a kit into my cart at WalMart. I doubt it's very edible, but it looks cute. This is one of those moments where Rachel pulled through as the older sibling, relinquishing what she wanted in order to a) spare an argument and face Mom's irritation or b) allow her little brother his moment in time. She let him decorate the front of the house. If you know Rachel at all, you know this was not easy for her.

If you don't think these two are silly enough, let me show you how wicked and sacrilegious they are.
My camera kept choosing to focus in on the flames, so I never got a proper, decent shot of my children around the Advent wreath. As if such a think exists. Blurry though it might be, can you see the meatball Rachel kept poking into the photo op? I'd finally get Andy to smile nice and sweet (hush, you cynics) and there's the other one, making weird noises as the meatball poses for its picture.
And then there's this mocking photo of the righteous and devout. Who do they think they are fooling? They better be saying a prayer that lightning doesn't strike them dead for their terrible behavior.
