"How do the builders get out?"
As a 3 year-old, Andy had been fairly intrigued by the thought that God was making a baby in my tummy. And considering he's such a concrete kid, he accepted that abstract concept fairly well. Except that in his mind, it was not abstract. It was very concrete. And the mental equation went like this:
God makes things, like flowers and babies. Therefore, God is a builder.
Bob is also a builder. Just watch PBS.
Bob the Builder has helpers, like Muck, Dizzy and Scoop. Technically, they are big equipment that talk and do things, but they do help build. So if God is like Bob, then God has helpers too.
For some reason, Andy was able to comprehend that God was NOT in my tummy; he was, however, building the baby there. In Andy's brain, God was issuing orders to the builders on how to build a baby. So...
"How do the builders get out of your tummy?"
Honestly, I don't quite remember how I wriggled out of that one.
