In Tribute
For Lent, I decided to work harder on countering grumpy husband thoughts with good ones. Grumpy thoughts are easy to come by and boy, they can just suck you in. And it's not like my thoughts are evil or anything, just your usual "Seriously?" and "I cannot believe..."
So in tribute to my husband, I offer this:
Do you have any idea how hard it is for a person with moderate OCD to change up his routine, even for his own boy? This is probably one of my favorite memories of Kevin as a dad (it still occurs these days a bit, but not quite with the enthusiasm that it used to as Andy is a bit older and recognizes the reality that he doesn't need to shave). Honestly, for him to patiently wait as Andy lathers up, shave ever so slowly so his son can keep up, help him wipe down, deal with the inevitable water mess, and be able to function afterwards is always a trial for him. Don't get me wrong; it's not that Kevin's a crazy mess or anything. But he has a difficult time with changes in routine, big or small.
So I give him huge kudos for intentionally messing with his inner psyche all in the name of fatherhood!
Kristin, I LOVE these photos!
