I thought I would share my artistic "talents" (air quotes, big time) with you. I may be fairly crafty but I'm not artistic. Well, in my head I'm artistic, but problems arise when I try to transfer what's in my head onto paper or wall. I'm not unhappy with it at all, but it's not what was in my head. In my head, I imagined swirls instead of dots that would have a textured look to it. That's not exactly right either; see, I can't even get it out of my head in words. Sigh.

See that small green dot interfering with the blue dot at the top of the window? That's actually hanging from the ceiling; it's not part of my project at all.
You know how every artist has a signature? Rachel's is taking the "R" and drawing a butterfly wing on the left side of the straight line. It's very cute and very unique. Want to see my artist signature?

That pink line that looks like a paint drip? That's me! (Rachel made a small stink about cleaning up my signature...you'd think the artist in her would appreciate my mark a bit more)

The black line that looks like a paint drip? Me again! Huge pink smudge? That's just lousy painting on my part.

And look! If you peek behind her door at the zebra wall, I've left my mark here too!

Here's the Spongebob wall, done 4 years ago when we moved in. Spongebob is actually looking a bit ragged around the edges, but she didn't have the heart to get rid of him.
Matt is glad Sponge Bob stayed. He is standing here screaming "Sponge Bob" over and over until I say, "yes you are right that is Sponge Bob"
ReplyDeleteYou are such a great mom to let your daughter "go" when it comes to painting the room. I just love your fun room, Rachel.
