Rachel's Photography

I downloaded all my pics from my camera yesterday and guess what I found? Nonsense. Utter nonsense. It seems that Rachel, in a fit of boredom, confiscated my camera for her own evil purposes.

"The Aliens and the Wii"

"The Alien and The Pink Bear"

"The Alien and The Game Controller"

"The Aliens Play Guitar Hero" The above nonsense I can at least relate to. I don't recall taking pictures of aliens staged in various poses, but back in the good ol' days when I only had one baby, I used to take pictures of Rachel with various props. "Rachel in the pink outfit" or "Rachel with sunglasses" or "Rachel in swimsuit" or "Rachel smiling in Punky Brewster outfit"

Now, the below nonsense I absolutely cannot relate to. It appears that the TechnoGeneration is either very self-confident or very vain. I've scrolled through all their MySpace pages and every single girl, and quite a few guys (yes, believe it or not) have these exact same pictures posted. It's like there is a rule that in order to have a proper MySpace layout, you absolutely must have self-portraits of yourself, taken by yourself no less. The expressions are all the same, the hair is all the same, the TechnoGen has zero creativity apparently.

"Watching a bouquet of balloons drift away"

"Slightly interested in the world around me"

"Debating whether or not you are worth it and honestly, it might not be much of a debate"

I cannot imagine having that kind of vanity or self-confidence at age 14. I was avoiding photographs, not filling up cameras with pics of myself. Much less posting said pics for all the world to see. Or at least all my friends and the extended network. I'm still undecided as to whether this self-confidence is a good thing or if just makes these kids more self-centered.
